Orell Füssli Thalia (OFT) Bookstores: Unique merchandising

Briefing

Orell Füssli Thalia (OFT) is the largest chain of bookstores on the Swiss market.

In the development of supplementary sales channels to the company’s online and bricks-and-mortar outlets, the focus is on high-footfall sales areas, whose professional and consistent management is regarded by OFT as a decisive success factor. For this purpose OFT looked for an external partner who would be able to provide an up-to-date and visually appealing rack jobbing service.

Solution

Boost Group Shopper Marketing developed and provided OFT with an overall concept for the rack jobbing. The concept was centered on weekly restocking of the shelving, together with product placement, merchandising and an ordering and returns process.

Results

The showcasing and correct maintenance of the presentation of the goods on the bookshelves takes place on a weekly basis in a number of Coop branches and, in addition to product placement and merchandising, also covers the necessary ordering and returns operations.

In concrete terms, in addition to a team of merchandisers the Boost Group is also providing an experienced field sales team of three regional managers and a project manager for the project.

In the pilot phase Boost Group is supporting and advising OFT with its extensive experience in rack jobbing for a number of different brands and implementing shelf management at a number of branches. The relevant operations include:
– orders
– returns
– visual merchandising

“We attach great importance to an appealing, appropriate and up-to-date presentation of our goods. In this respect Boost Group has displayed its expertise and lasting quality”, states Günther Muhr, Director Corporate Customers at Orell Füssli Thalia.

Driven by our values, we support the development of a sustainable future!
