SPAR – The Secret Life of Pets


Retailer SPAR was looking for its next collectibles’ promotion to activate shoppers and reward them with a totally new concept. Boost Group was asked to create, design and produce a unique collection to surprise customers with a new carrier and an important license.


Following the launch of the fifth Universal Studios’ fully-animated feature-film, “The Secret Life of Pets” Boost Group proposed a special collectibles’ promotion at SPAR with a big and strong licence. This campaign introduces a very special carrier– Boost Group designed a collection of lenticular cards: these cards change their motives and images twice if you flip them.


The new collection presented to the children the amusing characters from “The Secret Life of Pets”. For every purchase of 4,000 Ft, families receive a flow pack with one card. The promotion, which targets children, consists of 36 special cards, along with a collection book and a special tin can.

Boost Group and SPAR together activated shoppers during 8 weeks. The secret life of Pets collectibles’ promotion was a success in terms of turnover growth and the sales increase of FMCG participating into the program.

This promotion not only has a strong, international licence, but it also captures the fun world of the new movie; it offers kids and families exciting cards to collect, trade and play with while creatively imagining what their own pets might be doing when they’re not at home”.

Over 120 FMCG products participated in the promotion. The purchase of these products was rewarded with a free flow pack. The sales figures of these products were significantly higher throughout the entire promotion, which makes us very happy. This promotion was indeed a success and the turnover indicates clearly that we managed to achieve our goals. We clearly succeeded in appealing to our customers with our offer, as we experienced clear turnover growth and a higher average shopping basket value. We are very satisfied with the services provided by Boost Group throughout the whole cooperation. I feel that we were provided with quality work and together we were able to create a quality collectibles’ promotion.”
